A free, careful directory of licensed couples therapists in California, with plain-language guides for couples deciding where to start.
What we do
Finding a couples therapist is hard: the titles are confusing, insurance rarely helps, and most directories rank whoever pays. We are building a directory that does fewer things, carefully:
- We list only licensed therapists (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, licensed psychologist) who work with couples, starting in California.
- We check each license on the official DCA License Search and show it on every profile.
- We never sell ranking and never show client reviews.
- We write neutral, sourced guides and date every review.
- Couples choose and contact therapists directly. We do not pick a therapist for you.
Who owns this site
MarriageCounseling.io is owned and run by Vadim Fink.
Our connection to the Relational Life Institute
Vadim Fink is also CEO of the Relational Life Institute (RLI), which trains therapists in Relational Life Therapy (RLT), a couples therapy method founded by Terry Real. We want you to know this because RLT is one of the methods we describe.
MarriageCounseling.io is a separate project and is open to licensed therapists of every approach. RLT-trained therapists get no preference in how listings are ordered or shown, and our RLT overview follows the same neutral, sourced format as every other method page.
How we make money
Right now, we don't. Listings are free and there are no ads. If we add paid features for therapists in the future, they will never buy a higher position, a place on area pages, or reviews, and we will say clearly what is paid. Read how listings are ordered.
What we are not
- We are not a therapy provider and do not give clinical advice.
